Wrapping up the Weekend!

Weekend's seem to come and go, with all the craziness in the week, and always looking forward to the weekend. I love them because not only do I get to have a couple day's of sleep with no alarm, but just the quality time, and the days of not being rushed are well worth waiting for. So here is a recap of my weekend! :)

  • Friday- So Friday's are awesome day's, cause I don't have school, but going into work I'm looking forward to spending the day with the kiddos at the preschool. Kid's on Friday's though are CRAZY! I believe they sense the weekend coming, and use all the extra energy to bounce off the walls. After the long day at work, I love coming home to my future husband, and catching up with some quality time.

  • Saturday- Best Sleep Day's ever! i love sleeping in on Saturday's to catch up on some long lost beauty sleep. lol. What I love most though, is being able to have Girl's Day as i call it. Well that's exactly what I did, and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to make a new friend!

  • Sunday- My future husband and I got the opportunity to attend WKEE 100 Bridal Expo, In Huntington, Wv Big Sandy Superstore Arena. With over several different vendor booths, we walked through huge aisle way's of different options for the Big Day. We got to sample different foods from different caterers, enter for door prizes, and just experience the whole excitement for our big day! We ended up staying for over an hour, then on the way back home made a drive to end our little date day.

This was my weekend in a nutshell, Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! and here is to another fabulous week!

Beginning's of a Teacher.

So about 6 months ago, I was given a awesome, opportunity, I was able to land a Teacher Assistant position at a local Preschool in my hometown. I was previously excited about just applying, due to the fact that I'm currently enrolled at Ohio University Southern in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree for Early Childhood Education. My overall passion is to be a K-3 grade Teacher. After receiving the job, I quickly learned that there was more to this job, than a piece of paper giving me details of what job description. No where, did i find the Bold print stating, Caretaker?

I know, this sounds completely silly, but the first few months were a real eye opener, and full on learning experience. I have some few funny stories, that make looking back at it, a real treat, But ultimately I genuinely love and adore every single one of these kids.  I remember my first day, actually in the classroom, one of the boys in the 4 & 5 year old room, came up to me as I was conversing with the class, and Stated, "Your Weird." I still laugh at this because, to them yes I was new, and I was weird, trying to find my voice as a teacher. Now, 6 months later and the boy loves me to death, and Says, "MS. Bekah I want to Marry you!" and "Your Cute!" It warms my heart, that coming from a boy who was stand offish, and very uneasy with me, wants to be around me 24/7 and always wants to go where i go. I found, that not only am I teacher, or a caretaker, that I'm overall that light, to drive that gives each child that passion to become who they want to be, and to also Tell them that nothing can stand in there way for who they are.

I know i still have 2 more years til i obtain my degree, and that i have a whole lot to learn, but I'll continue to share my daily experiences, and what I learn everyday. My goal is to be an impact on every child's life that i encounter along the way. I know there are going to be days of overwhelming, hair pulling, aggravating moments, but i wouldn't trade it for the world.
